Discovery NotesThe phage was collected from the soil by Rachel Jakielski and I adopted it after she got a promising result on multiple direct isolations and therefore did not need another phage. She collected it from the soil of a flowerbed on the corner of Bigelow Boulevard and Forbes Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In the flowerbed there was a lot of nearby vegetation that included decorative shrubs and flowers.
Naming NotesIt is from a funny vine that talks about a singer and one of her songs.

Plaque NotesThe morphology of the plaques from the purification plates are tiny; they are typically about 1mm in diameter. The edges of the plaques are rough but they follow a similar circular pattern. Occasionally, some of the plaques join together and look larger, but they usually stay the same size. The clearings are always obvious against the pink or yellow color of the agar and they are never cloudy.
