| Discovery Notes | My soil sample was found from soil found at the surface of a walkway near my apartment. The soil was a little sandy in texture and looked fairly organic without vegetation nearby. Soil sample 9 was collected on 9/17/2025, and the temperature on that day was 21.1 degrees Celsius. Soil samples 7 and 8 were collected near the same spot on the same day during the same conditions. |

| Plaque Notes | 10 µL of dilutions 6-9 were plated after 250 µL of late-log Arthrobacter globiformis B-2979, after which 3 mL of 0.4% PYCa top agar was added to create double-layer plates. In subsequent rounds of plating, all of the plaques were large (2mm diameter, range 1-3 mm, n=10), clear, and circular, and looked like a bullseye (nearly clear circle with a hazy yellowish center). The morphology was clear and is semi-consistent with the morphology seen on the D9 plate. |
