Discovery NotesDry soil dug up from underneath a large pile of cigarette buds and ashes. Located right next to the Northwestern Parking Garage in between Broken Egg Cafe. Humidity at 73%.
Naming NotesI had to dig through a pile of old cigarette buds in order to get to the soil sample that I used to discovered this phage. The sheer scale of the cigarette pile is what drew me to it in the first place and I thought it would be interesting to see what results I would get. It was found on the side of a parking garage and as I passed by the next day, I saw two men relaxing in their janitor uniforms and having a smoke break. The thought of these two guys having a shared spot to take a break endeared me to the idea of a potential phage here! I decided to name it "OffTheClock" in honor of the two men who rested here!
