Plaque Notes | On average, plaque diameter is approximately 1.85 mm, though most plaques are larger than 2 mm. The plaques themselves are very turbid and can be difficult to see without close inspection. They have a distinct bulls-eye shape. A dark ring lies around a turbid center. Often, a dark dot lies in the middle of the plaque. Occasionally, a very faint second ring can be observed around the first clearly visible ring, though this is rare. There do not seem to be any noticeable changes with increased plaque density. |
