Discovery NotesCollected from soil near tree roots in a picnic area. An ONT MinION, R10.4.1 chemistry was used to sequence genomic DNA. The obtained sequence was comprised of 10 contigs ranging from 2,228bp to 3,603bp in length, for a total of 25,634bp. 9 contigs (2248bp, 2266bp, 2291bp, 2408bp, 2530bp, 2552bp, 2651bp, 2857bp, and 3603bp) matched the Streptomyces phage Provolone (BD3) with an average of 88.2% query cover and 86.2% identity over the 9 contigs. 1 contig (2228bp) matched the Arthrobacter phage Emotion (AZ4) with 99% query and 90.91% identity, and we hypothesize this contig arose from contamination or misreads of a phage sequenced in the same flow cell.
Naming NotesFound under a tree with pecan-coloured leaves. Also, this phage was named around Thanksgiving when pecan pie is commonly served.
