Discovery Notes | Found inside a flower bed at 8:10am on 9/3/25. This flower bed had a light layer of mulch over it, so I dug just under the multch and to the soil to get my sample. The soil was slightly moist, probably from morning dew. This soil sample was also taken an hour or two before Direct Isolation. |
Naming Notes | We originally wanted to name our phage after the residance hall it was found at. We also wanted to add a visual description of the phage to it's name. The first name we came up with was ShrevePepperFlakes, but this is too long. We changed the name to just PepperFlakes, basing the name on the plaques it makes. |

Plaque Notes | The plaques our phage makes are very tiny. They are about 0.1cm in diameter and they cluster pretty close together. The plaques don't branch out in any direction. They stay pretty consistently circular and evenly spread on the agar plate. |
