Discovery Notes~20 year old compost pile. Plenty of dead wood and trees, leaves lawn turnings from gardens, food scraps, old plants, etc. in the pile. Surrounded by many trees, areas floods when it rains heavily. Consistent animal traffic: cats, dogs, squirrels, birds.
Naming NotesPerryP is a master of disguise, a shape-shifter if you will. We named our first soil sample Phineas after the lead character from the show Phineas and Ferb. Perry the Platypus is Phineas and Ferb's secret agent pet who continually keeps his identity hidden and beats bad guys. We believe our phage is efficient and will be victorious against the evil forces of G. terrae. Does the P stand for Platypus or phage? We do not know. He escapes the gazes of prying eyes. He defies description and easy platitudes. He is PerryP!!!
