Discovery NotesThis phage was found in an isolated flower box skirting the uOttawa campus, near some shallow root systems in the early morning.
Naming NotesThis phage is named after the creature Pesanta. From Catalan legend, Pesanta are enormous dogs with steel paws and holes in their front paws. They are associated with sleep paralysis, hallucinations, and nightmares, and have been said to sit on sleeping peoples chests. Pesanta is a nightmare to bacteria!
