Discovery Notes | Our phage was found by Manvita Kakarla behind the Drexel Park sign in Philadelphia. At the time of collection, the surrounding environment had a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the soil sample used to discover the phage was collected at a depth of 8 cm underneath some grass. The soil sample was lighter in color, dry but damp at the time of collection, and was finely crushed into particles. |
Naming Notes | The name of our phage is Pharkle and we named it after a beloved character named Farkle from Disney Channel's Girl Meets World. Farkle was a major part of our childhood. |
