Discovery NotesOur phage was found by Manvita Kakarla behind the Drexel Park sign in Philadelphia. At the time of collection, the surrounding environment had a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the soil sample used to discover the phage was collected at a depth of 8 cm underneath some grass. The soil sample was lighter in color, dry but damp at the time of collection, and was finely crushed into particles.
Naming NotesThe name of our phage is Pharkle and we named it after a beloved character named Farkle from Disney Channel's Girl Meets World. Farkle was a major part of our childhood.
