Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected on October 5th, 2017 at 12:46 PM. The soil sample was dug from a patch of warm, dry soil near a large tree located behind the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building. There were many small roots intertwined in the dry soil, and the soil was taken from a depth of about 2 inches. The approximate temperature was 73° F.
Naming NotesMy phage was relatively difficult to isolate because the soil sample I collected contained many different types of phage. Therefore, I think my phage is feisty character, hence the name PheistyPhil.
