Discovery NotesThis phage was discovered by Rebecca Mold, but adopted by group members Blaine Ballard, Logan Williams, Miriam Walker, and Lily Kabat.

See the data page on PhiRho for more discovery details.
Naming NotesThe phage got the first section of its name "PhiRho" because it was found near the Phi Sigma Rho Sorority on Purdue University's campus. There were two different PhiRho phages that were given out, and one plaque was larger than the other. Therefore, we added "Alpha" to the end, as the phage produced larger plaques.
