| Discovery Notes | Phutbol was extracted from a backyard compost pile on the 25th of August, 2017, at 3:12 PM. The soil from the compost pile was sampled at a depth of six inches from a pile of about three feet in depth. The soil was moist and shaded. Phutbol was isolated through direct isolation. |
| Naming Notes | My passion for fútbol (the colloquial Spanish spelling of soccer) inspired this phage name. |
