Discovery NotesThe phage same was collected from a plot of dirt located on a muddy hill. The ground was wet from a melted snow. Grass pieces were included in sample, though it mainly consisted of mud.
Naming NotesPitaPit was named out of admiration of the local Pita Pit restaurant near the Gonzaga University campus. Both Macy and Ryleigh have enjoyed Pita Pit, the restaurant, throughout our year at Gonzaga, so we wanted to name the phage after it.
