Discovery NotesThe soil sample that yielded this phage came from my Dad's plant pot containing a patio peach. Cary, North Carolina is often very humid and gets rather warm, but sometimes can freeze. The soil was collected right off the top and was very moist and dense. Not a lot of detritus or mulch was collected so the sample was mainly dirt.
Naming NotesThis phage name has a double meaning. One reason is that science brings me such pure joy that it is only fitting to name my phage after that emotion. Secondly, my girlfriend's middle name is Joy, and she is my muse. Double meaning for a purified phage! I guess that makes it two and a half...
