Discovery NotesThe sample was taken from my mom's compost worm bin. It was taken from the very last compartment. It had rained the night before so the soil was damp. There were lots of worms and bugs including cockroaches and earwigs in the bin. There were no plants or any other forms of life other than the bugs and worms. The bin has 5 different compartments, the first has food and other compostable items that then get broken down and travel between the layers until the soil reaches the last layer, where it is used as fertilizer in my mom’s garden.
Naming NotesWhen I was a kid (3 or 4) I had a rubber toy that had little floppy tentacles on it and I called it purple hair. I loved this toy so much, I took it everywhere. Unfortunately it got really gross and my parents threw it away. :(
