Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected at a depth of 8 inches beneath the surface at 23.3℃ ambient temperature. Site characteristics include residential area, urban, with lots of nearby automotive traffic. Enriched isolation was performed using hosts Arthrobacter globiformis, Arthrobacter atrocyaneous, Arthrobacter sulfureus , and Arthrobacter sp. Culture was incubated with shaking for 48 hours at 30ºC.

Naming NotesThis phage was named ReddiWip in honor of Dr. Kris Reddi. Dr. Reddi has been such a crucial support to this study and without her aid and guidance, this study would not have been possible. She helped us prepare all our neem plates and other materials and without her doing so we wouldn’t have been able to conduct the experiments we did. We decided to take a fun spin on the name of our phage and name it ReddiWip based on the whipped cream brand that our team loves, but also continue this idea of honoring Dr. Reddi.
