Discovery Notes | Phage isolated from enriched soil sample in a very damp, shaded area under a bush. The sample was taken at 10:25 AM next to a laboratory building on CU Boulder's campus. Some muddy and some dry soil included in the sample. |
Naming Notes | One of Jake's cats (a tortoiseshell) is named Reeses for her resemblence of a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup. Since Reeses is one of the two cutest cats in the world, she deserves to be enshrined in scientific history. |

Plaque Notes | The plaques have internal transparent clearings surrounded by a turbid halo. The total plaque diameter is about 5 mm; the halo is about 1.2 mm in width; and the internal clearing is about 2 mm in diameter. Halo turbidity increases when plaques occur adjacently, resulting in the appearence of the adjacent plaques being more oblong that those that occur alone. Critically, the internal transparent clearings remain clear and circular. At higher titers, the plaques may appear smaller, and the halo may be less obvious, though they should be uniform. |
