Discovery NotesThe phage was brought in as dirt and sent through thorough processing to isolate it. The DNA was isolated from the physical phage. We then sent the DNA off to a lab to be sequenced.
Naming NotesThe phage comes from low ground near the Obion River that is constantly flooding when there is heavy rain. The phage, also, comes from an area that does not have a large college presence, so there was an amazing opportunity to discover a new phage. Coming from heavy farmland area, there is an abundance of microorganisms to be found.
