Discovery Notes | The soil where this phage came from is usually pretty wet thanks to daily irrigation that takes place. This soil was actually not too far from a creek bed so it was a bit cooler than normal. The weather conditions were cloudy and the outside temperature was about 89 degrees. However the temperature in this particular area seemed a lot cooler thanks to the shade coming from trees. The temperature might actually be an important characteristic considering the fact that the phage collected is temperent and seems to be temperature dependent (doesn't do well in incubators). |
