Discovery NotesI collected my soil sample (32.717616,-96.657342) in Southeast Dallas from a patch of grass in my backyard that has always produced fungus and has had some sort of life all year round. The temperature was about 39 in the afternoon (about 3:30pm) and it was cloudy and humidity levels were about 30%. I collected the top 2 inches of soil under the top layer since it was soil that we added to the house in the past month. I did include some of the organic material like the rocks, a snail shell and some of the roots form the grass and fungi that was growing on top.
Naming NotesRuperto was a nickname I got from a family member that inspired me to go into biochemistry, so I decided to name it that.
