Mycobacterium phage SYNK
Duplicate of Lesedi
Is identical to Lesedi except for a single extra CCG codon nestled in a run of 5 such codons. Both were isolated in South Africa at the University of Kwazulu-Natal. Both were subsequently grown and had DNA isolated at the University of Pittsburgh. Thus, we assume SYNK was really a lab contaminant of Lesedi.
