Discovery Notes | The soil was collected from the university of the incarnate word, at a proximal distance from the blue hole. The soil was dark in color and clustered together. |
Naming Notes | Since bacteriophage capsid heads are similar to gems. I named my phage after my names gem Esmeralda but in English as emerald and I included the first letter of my last name. |

Plaque Notes | The plaques were tiny clear dots that infected the whole plate of bacterium. After an additional day the whole plate was infected, and the phage cleared out the plates host bacterium completely leaving a clear plate. The picture below shows progress of only a period of 28 hours. The phages are lytic due to producing clear plaques. |
