Discovery NotesThe soil sample was retrieved from the area at the entrance of Benedictine University-Kindlon hall where the flowers were planted. The weather was 23°C which is around 74°F. It was a sunny and pleasant day. It did not take a lot of effort to dig out the dirt as the soil was damp. I wore gloves and dug about 3 inches down the soil to fill half a sandwich bag with it. The soil was soft, dark blackish brown and had a few roots and woodchips in it. I chose this spot to retrieve the sample because the soil was nourished and slightly wet. It also had a lot of plants around it.
Naming NotesThe newly discovered bacteriophage described here has been designated "Sizah." I’ve selected this name in dedication to a cherished nickname from a close friend.
