Discovery NotesThis sample was collected from my backyard. Sample was obtained approximately 2-3 cm below surface level. Soil was dark brown and loose.
Naming Notes"Smidge" sounds like name used to describe a tiny entity that is naughty. Since this phage is responsible for the tiny zones of destruction on a bacterial lawn, I felt that "Smidge" was a suitable name.
