| Discovery Notes | Phage created plaques that were around 4 mm in diameter. Plaques were clear, indicating lytic life cycle. When grown on plates in high concentration, overgrowth of bacterial culture occurs. Often plaques had a slight zone of even greater clearing at the edge, like a bull's eye, or target patter. Effect became more pronounced with further purification. Phage did not hold up well to Transmission Electron Microscopy. |
| Naming Notes | Phage was named Snowflake due to difficulty working with specimen as time progressed. Capsids were broken in TEM, and showed lace-like patterns inside the confines of the structure, mimicking the patterns of snowflakes. |
