From enriched soil sample?Yes
Isolation TemperatureNot entered
GPS Coordinates44.89714 N, 68.668566 W Map
Discovery NotesSoil was extracted from a loosely packed flower bed kept in direct sunlight. Soil extracted had a depth of 1 inch and was fairly warm.
Naming NotesAt the time of isolation, two separate soil samples yielded plaques, but we only had time over the next couple of months to work with one phage, so we had to choose between the two. Like the movie, Sophie's Choice, where a woman had to decide between which child she wanted to keep,we had to make a hard choice between which phage we wanted to work with. For this reason, the phage whose plaques we chose to work with was named, SophiesChoice.
