Discovery NotesStingy was discovered in soil in Wiggins Pvt. Community Garden in Ottawa, ON, Canada. Soil sample was collected from 1cm below the surface and was soft and moist. The ambient temperature was 23˚C.

Genomic DNA was sequenced on a ONT Minion, R10.4.1 chemistry using rapid barcoding V14 and PCR amplification. The sequence was assembled into one contig of 57,382bp with 78% query cover, 81.07% identity to Inked (AU7). This sequence appears to be nearly complete based on its similarity to Inked which is a similar size to the longest contig.
Naming NotesDuring the purification process, this phage did not infect the host on two separate rounds of plaque assays and because of this stubborn behaviour, it was named Stingy meaning unwilling to give or share.
