Discovery NotesSample area was taken directly next to a shrubbery-like plant that was near some bushes. Maggots were growing in the dirt nearby sample location. Sample may have contained maggots. Sample was taken from an altitude of 189 m.
Naming NotesSuelo is soil in Spanish. This phage was found in soil, so thus the name was chosen.

Plaque NotesThe morphology of our phage is extremely small and most often acts as a lytic phage. At higher concentrations, the phage has a more temperate morphology due to the ratio of phage to bacteria. Even when the morphology is temperate, the size remains the same. When DNA was extracted from the lysate sample, the concentration was 50 ng/uL, as the small size of the phage does not lend enough DNA in itself.
