Discovery NotesSoil sample was isolated from a suburban, highly populated area, then introduced to host in an enrichment. The enrichment went through 8 serial dilutions before purified to show consistent turbid 2mm plaques. One plate lysate did not yield a high enough titer, so the 10 plate lysate was used for a titer of 3.0 x 10^9 pfu/mL. DNA purification/isolation yielded 100.8 ng/uL of DNA. Phage tails measured at an average of about 140 nm. Gel electrophoresis showed cutting at above 10.0kb, but HaeIII showed cutting at 1.5kb and several times more showing a smeared result on labeled digest.
Naming NotesI have always taken pride and humor in my last name, but I have nothing but pride regarding the phage I have found and the work it took to get there. I have named my phage after my last name with that in mind.
