Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected at 3:14 PM on August 22, 2023, from a chicken coop in Krum, Texas (33.25507° N, 97.22770° W). The temperature in the area was 39°C (102°F), and the humidity was 35%. The sample was collected from approximately 1 inch below the surface of the soil. The soil was primarily composed of organic material and the top layer of soil was dry, crumbly, and loose, while the lower layer from which the sample was collected was moist, densely packed, and difficult to loosen and collect.
