Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected along the lake shore located at Basil Griffin Park on August 27th, 2017 at approximately 12:45 p.m., CDT. The site was located in a clearing between trees that allowed sunlight to reach the ground where the sample was collected. Water was able to wash onto shore where the soil sample was collected. The area does not experience much foot traffic. Rocks and algae were present over the site, as were dead sticks and decomposing leaf matter that had washed up on the shore. The soil was moist when the sample was collected, and was located in direct sunlight. The sample was collected at a depth of 0.5cm, with the ambient air temperature being 30C.
