Discovery NotesPhage was discovered with soil samples from High Mark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, home to the Buffalo Bills.

Conditions of environment at the time of collection were warm yet moist, but not humid. Temperature was roughly 79°F, collected on August 15, 2025, at approximately 8:35PM EST. Sample itself was obtained roughly 2 inches below the surface.
Naming NotesOur shared love for Costco's Twist Ice Cream.

Characterization
ClusterBI
SubclusterB1
Cluster Life CycleLytic
Lysogeny NotesNo observable mesa formations or turbid growth after 120 to 168 hours of incubation at 30ºC on S. griseus. Across all dilutions, plaques remained consistently clear, suggesting that Twist is of a virulent nature. No observable growth was noticed across any dilution of lytic regions, further suggesting Twist follows the lytic cycle.
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned
Annotation StatusNot sequenced
Plaque NotesTwist forms clear, circular plaques on Streptomyces griseus, averaging approximately 3.89 mm in diameter with sharp and defined margins. On S. mirabilis, plaques appear turbid with hazy edges.

Twist presented physical morphological characteristics of a 78x73 nm capsid size, and approximately 330x12 nm non-contractile tail size.
