Discovery NotesThe soil was collected at 8:30 AM on January 30, 2023. The conditions were cold and snowy outside. In order to get the soil, snow had to pushed off and the soil was collected using the ziplock technique explained in SEA PHAGES. The soil was lumpy and dark colored in nature. It had no rocks in it and resembled dark brown clay in its form.
Naming NotesThe reasoning behind the name "Umair" was in order to ensure distinction of this phage with other phages sampled in the lab. The name belongs to the sampler of the phage and was therefore simple to identify who sampled the phage.
