Discovery NotesSince we had so many failed attempts with the soil samples on campus we used a soil sample from Kassandra's backyard. In her backyard, there are plenty of plants and foliage where phage can be easily found.
Naming NotesWe named this phage Vegrandis (meaning small or tiny in latin) because of its extremely small plaques.

Plaque NotesWhen looking at the plaque morphology of our phage, distinguishing whether the phage is lytic or temperate takes a bit of effort because of its considerably small plaque diameter. We have determined it is a lytic phage.
