Discovery NotesNote: Sample was adopted from another group in the class.

Sample was collected from beneath the roots of a 7-year-old pomegranate tree that had been fertilized with homemade organic compost approximately 3 months prior to collection. Sample was collected from a depth of 6 inches on the south facing side which receives half a day of direct sunlight. The temperature at the time was 94 degrees Fahrenheit. The soil was sandy and filled with rocks and decaying matter
Naming NotesOur group wanted to honor the first two places where we attempted to collect samples and isolate a phage. The places were Virgin River, Utah and Little Jamaica, Arizona.
