Discovery NotesThe soil this phage was isolated from was shared by our peer Emily Klute as she had a spare plaque going unused. The soil is said to be adjacently from a tree stump in Eddington, Maine. We went on to isolate the phage, finding our beloved VitoCorleone.
Naming NotesThere was a long list running full of rock band names, comedian names, and so on. Suddenly Ashley randomly looked up the name of VitoCorleone as we transitioned into talking about the classic movie-- The Godfather. So it was down to Nickelback or VitoCorleone, and Vito won!
