Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected near a shed where, unfortunately, a wild rabbit that had passed on had been buried several years earlier. This may have enriched the local environment and promoted diverse microbial, faunal, and phage activity. Soil can be described as dark, loamy, and moist forest soil.
Naming NotesPhage was named after the wild rabbit that was sadly buried in the back of my backyard by the shed. I believe that the additional organic matter provided from it may have resulted in a higher phage count.
