Discovery Notes | Woat22 was found in front of a bush next to the blue emergency light on Overbrook Ave, behind Bellarmine Hall on Saint Joseph’s University campus. Woat22 was found on February 11, 2021 at approximately 1:34 PM. The weather was cold and cloudy and it was the day after snowfall. The humidity was 84% and the ambient temperature was 0 degrees Celsius. Woat22 was collected from moist and rocky soil sample that was collected at a depth of 10.5 cm. Woat22 underwent four rounds of purification. The MTL titer was 1.3x10^10 and the HTL titer was 2.1x10^11. After measuring seven phages, the average capsid diameter was 60.33 nm and the average tail length was 336.56 nm. Likely belongs to B1 cluster based on cluster-specific PCR. |
Naming Notes | It is an acronym for “Worst of All Time" and a play on words from the original, better-known acronym “Goat" meaning “Greatest of All Time”. It is a joke between a friend and I. 22 was added to the end of the name as it my number on my soccer jersey. |
