Discovery NotesYarp was discovered in a garden area that had a variety of plants with moist soil. The temperature was 31 degrees Celsius in Longmont, Colorado when soil sample with phage was collected.
Naming NotesYarp was chosen because it is a word of approval that was used a lot when the experiment went the way that we wanted to. We wanted a personal name that involved both of us and so this word was chosen as the name for our phage.
