Discovery Notes | The soil was retrieved from the backyard of my home. The weather was around 20° and there was snow on the ground due to snowfall on previous nights. The soil was hard so I dug down approximately 2-4 inches. I retrieved around 1/2 lb of soil in a clear zip-lock bag. The soil was darker brown and had small pieces of sediment. The soil did become moist since it was slightly frozen with snow. |
Naming Notes | I decided to originally name the phage ZPhage1 but it did not process through. My professor suggested Zappy and I thought it was a catchy name. I ended up going with Zappy1 |
