Discovery NotesLeeShang was discovered in September, from moist loamy soil at George Mason University. The soil was collected in the morning, at about 0900 hours, at 72 degrees Fahrenheit.
I discovered Lee Shang after three failed attempts. Notwithstanding, after a torrential downpour, I made another attempt on our campus's garden area (innovation garden). I dug about 7-8cm below ground level and finally got successful with my discovery of Lee Shang. My very own bacteriophage.
Naming NotesMy gordonia phage is called "Lee Shang". This is one of my alias I developed in high school. As my phage is truly an extension of me, I decided to make it personal bestowing on it one of my own names.
