| Discovery Notes | When discovering my soil sample I had found this soil near a bush at Benedictine University where the soil was a little damp and was easy to dig and collect. The soil was moist because the night before the sprinklers were on. In the morning, the soil had somewhat hardened but was still soft when collected at 8:30 AM. I used a digger and reached 2-3 inches before extracting approximately about ½ pound of soil. Soil sample is dark ad resembles clay. It also contained small pieces of rocks, grass, and roots. |
| Naming Notes | I named my phage marmar because that is what friends and family refer to me as. It holds a lot of sentimental value and memories because I have grown up being called that practically my whole life. Its short for Mariam. |

| Plaque Notes | The characterization of my plaque was lytic because my plaques were prominent and clear. They werent fuzy or blurry at all. My average diameter for the plaques was around 1 mm. Since I had a lower diameter, I needed a higher pfu/mL to create webbed plates. Siphoviridae comes from a double stranded DNA in the order Caudovirales. |
