| Discovery Notes | This phage was found in an enriched water sample obtained from North Commerce Lake, Michigan. The sample site was a freshwater lake with seaweed, kelp, and sand. The lake levels and humidity in the air were particularly high on the day this sample was collected as there were recent storms. |
| Naming Notes | My favorite books growing up were the "Little House on the Prairie" series. The author, Laura Ingalls Wilder, writes often of the endearing nickname her father gave her: "half-pint". I wanted to pay homage to one of the most cherished stories of my youth. Additionally, half-pint indicates a very small person just as my phage plaques are small. |
