Discovery NotesOnism was isolated from a soil sample under a pine tree at the southeast corner of the science center at Hope College. Onism was isolated by direct isolation.
Naming NotesOnism: the frustration of being stuck in just one body, that inhabits only one place at a time.

Lysogeny NotesAs Onism produces primarily turbid plaques, it is likely a lysogenic phage.
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned
Annotation StatusNot sequenced
Plaque NotesUnder normal conditions (moderate concentration and 32C) Onism produces plaques which are about 1 mm in diameter. The plaques are turbid. Some plaques have a more turbid ring around the edge, with a less turbid center, while others have a distinct border between around the plaque, which is evenly turbid throughout. At very high concentrations, Onism still produces primarily turbid plaques (mostly with the distinct edge of the plaque), but it also has produces very clear plaques.
