Discovery NotesThe soil was moist due to rain and thunderstorms the night before. In the morning, the soil was a little hardened but was still soft and moist when collected at 8:25 A.M. I used a digger and reached about 2-3 inches before extracting approximately ½ pound of soil. The soil sample is dark brown/black and resembles a dark brown grainy clay. It also contains small pieces of grass, wood-chips, and rocks.
Naming NotesI named my phage "Contaminated" because during the first few experiments performed in our BIOL 1199 class I had contamination present in my plates and on my phage. Also, after naming it Contaminated I did not get Contamination on from any of my experiments, until the very last, where my isolated phage was contaminated and I had different phages present in my digest image.

Plaque NotesPhage "Contaminated" was characterized as Lytic, due to being clear and having an sharp edge curve. The phage was measured to be 1 mm in diameter and 0.5 mm in radius. Although in the concluding process of this experiment my phage ironically resulted to be contaminated where there was another phage present.
