Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected at a depth of 3 inches beneath the surface. Site characteristics include plant roots in soil, dry soil.

Enriched isolation was performed using hosts Arthrobacter globiformis, Arthrobacter atrocyaneous, Arthrobacter sulfureus , and Arthrobacter sp. Culture was incubated with shaking for 48 hours at 30ºC.

Naming NotesThe student who collected this phage sample named it after her cat, Simón. Be sure to note that it is not pronounced like Simon, but instead like Simone with more enunciation on the last syllable. Her cat was originally going to be named Mango because of its orange coat.
