Discovery NotesObtained soil sample from 33.212001, -97.148598 at 12:55 pm from approximately 2cm below the surface, local air temperature was approximately 36°C. Soil sample was very dry with small amounts of organic matter, and was light brown in color, the sample was obtained by scooping a small amount of soil into a conical tube.
Naming NotesThis phage was named after a character from Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time." The character is a side character who shows how disadvantages in size and strength can be overcome with intelligence and creativity. Given the small size of bacteriophages relative to their prey and their method of using a bacteria's own processes against them, I believe the name fits.
