Discovery NotesThis phage was found in the soil of a garden next to the Bioscience building at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The garden was located to the right of the building, the same side that the Festival Conference & Student Center is next to. The soil was collected right next to one of the plants in the garden. The sample then went under enriched isolation and plated at thirty-seven degrees Celsius.
Naming NotesI named this phage after my choir in high school. I hope that this phage will help change many lives just like my choir changed mine.
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown
Fasta file available?No
Characterization
ClusterUnclustered
Subcluster--
Lysogeny NotesThe sample originally performed the lysogenic cycle most of the time, until a mutation occurred while I was starting the spot test dilutions. This mutant performed the lytic cycle as opposed to the lysogenic cycle, and the research proceeded with this mutation.
