Discovery NotesWe found this sample in an old flower bed outside of Hughes hall on Gonzaga University's campus, the soil was very wet, with very few living organisms. There was a bit of snow near where we took our sample, and it was right outside the edge of the flower bed.
Naming NotesWe named our phage BiolumBertha because we talked in lab a lot about bioluminescent plankton that are in Bellingham, WA. We had the second part named Bertha because we wanted our phage to be personalized to us and we thought Bertha was a cool name.
