Discovery NotesThis phage was isolated from soil on the edge of Hickory Creek in Denton, Texas. This section of hickory creek was inside the bounds of a University of North Texas field station. This field station is concerned with studying stream ecology and the sample was collected while on a fish collection trip with Brittany Harried and Warren Burton for Dr. David Hoeinghaus' laboratory.
Naming NotesThis bacteriophage was named after the last album released by David Bowie before he died. The album(Blackstar) is one of my favorites, and I wanted to honor David Bowie's memory through this contribution.
